Dear Friends and Tribal Leaders,

Welcome to Preserving the Voice of California’s First People: A Summit for California’s Native Future. Your presence today demonstrates our shared commitment to protecting tribal sovereignty, preserving our cultures, and creating lasting opportunities for generations to come.

During this summit, we have come together to challenge what others think and say about our history and our contributions to humanity. It is our time to take a seat at the head of the table—to be directly involved wherever people discuss our communities or make decisions that affect our future. We must ask tough questions and provide clear answers to break stereotypes and show the world who we truly are.

I encourage you to actively engage—ask bold questions, stay curious, and openly discuss challenging ideas. Our courage and unity in confronting these issues will create real and lasting change.

Please share what you learn, encourage others to join this growing movement, and together we will build a future where Native voices are strong, clear, and impactful.
